Tonight Senator Glenn McConnell discussed new sprinkler legislation on WLTX. Senator McConnell is the main sponsor of the bill that will offer tax breaks to businesses that install sprinklers. He is also proposing cheaper insurance rates for those businesses and lower connection fees for sprinkler installation.

$2 million to go for roads near proposed shopping center

“A big shot in the arm,” is what one official called a $2 million commitment from the state Department of Transportation for the Saco Lowell redevelopment project.
The money would be used for road improvements near the proposed massive project at the former Saco Lowell textile machinery plant. The property has been proposed for a shopping complex to be known as Easley Town Center.

South Carolina should stop giving driver’s license tests in foreign languages, in part because the practice breaks the law, Senate President Pro Tem Glenn McConnell said Friday.
The Charleston Republican warned the Department of Motor Vehicles that if the agency doesn’t change its policy, he will introduce legislation next year forcing it to do so.
