Senator Larry Grooms

First elected in 1997, Senator Larry Grooms represents District 37, which includes parts of Berkeley, Charleston, Colleton and Dorchester counties.

Senator Grooms is Chairman of the Senate Transportation Committee. He also serves on the Finance;  Agriculture and Natural Resources;
Fish, Game and Forestry;  and Education committees.

A graduate of Clemson University and a small businessman, Grooms is President and CEO of GTI.  He and his wife, Carol, live in the Berkeley County town of Bonneau.

They have three school-aged sons and are active members of First Baptist Church of St. Stephen.  He and his family enjoy spending time on Lake Moultrie, and all things Clemson.
