South Carolina Natural Gas Exploration Feasibility Study Committee To Hear Public Comments in North Charleston on Thursday

Members of the South Carolina Natural Gas Exploration Feasibility Study Committee are hosting a Public Comment Session at Trident Technical College on Thursday, January 22, 2009. The event will begin at 7:00 p.m. and will be held in the Nursing Auditorium. The public is invited to attend and provide comment about offshore drilling and energy policy in South Carolina.

Who: State Senator Paul Campbell (R-Berkeley) and members of the South Carolina Natural Gas Exploration Feasibility Study Committee

On October 1, 2008, the United States Congress let the ban on offshore drilling expire. The South Carolina National Gas Exploration Feasibility Study Committee was established in 2007 by the SC General Assembly to assess the feasibility of natural gas exploration in South Carolina’s coastal waters. The Committee is chaired by Senator Paul Campbell of Berkeley County and Michael Thompson of Anderson County.
