MEET THOMAS ALEXANDER
Thomas Alexander was first elected to the Senate in 1994. Prior to becoming a member of the Senate, Thomas represented his community as member of the Walhalla City Council, Walhalla Mayor Pro Tempore, and in the S.C. House of Representatives.
Senator Alexander is the owner of a local small business, Alexander Office Supply. He has served on several local boards in the past including the Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Association, Carolina Office Products Association, Sertoma Club, and the Lion’s Club.
Senator Alexander has represented us well in the General Assembly. Dedicated, conservative and dependable, he has earned the respect of Republicans and Democrats. He has been:
- A leader in the fight against crime
- A leader in health care reform
- A leader in restructuring to make SC government more efficient
- A leader in the effort to improve our economy
- A leader in reducing property taxes
- A strong supporter of public education
Senator Alexander earned his B.S. from Clemson University in 1978. He lives in Walhalla with his wife Lynda.
